Hawker Hunter F.58 – “Papyrus”
This striking survivor is a Swiss Air Force Hawker Hunter F.58, originally delivered as J-4040. Now registered as HB-RVS and flying under the heritage identity J-4015, the aircraft is affectionately known as “Papyrus” due to its distinctive white livery with black script-style markings.
Operated by a Swiss civilian team, Papyrus remains airworthy and is a regular participant in European airshows and commemorative flypasts. The aircraft retains its single-seat configuration and is maintained to high standards, preserving the legacy of Swiss jet aviation.
Though marked as J-4015, archival records confirm its true identity as ex-J-4040, making it a notable example of re-marked heritage aircraft. Its elegant paint scheme and clean lines make it a favorite among enthusiasts and photographers alike.
