The Supermarine Spitfire is Britain’s most iconic fighter of World War II—renowned for its elliptical wings, agile handling, and pivotal role in the Battle of Britain. Designed by R.J. Though delicate on deck, their performance matched land-based fighters, making them a vital asset to the Fleet Air Arm.
