Supermarine Spitfire G-FIRE is a modified Mk.XIX variant, originally built for high-altitude photo reconnaissance as RAF serial NH904. After serving with the Royal Belgian Air Force as SG108, the airframe was rescued from a scrapyard and underwent a series of restorations across the UK. It was rebuilt to airworthy condition by Spencer Flack of Classic Air Displays and registered as G-FIRE in 1979.

The aircraft became iconic for its vivid red paint scheme and daring low-level passes, often flown by the legendary Ray Hanna. G-FIRE was a regular feature at UK airshows throughout the 1980s, including Yeovilton International Air Day. Later, it was associated with Stephen Grey and The Fighter Collection before being transferred to the United States.

Today, G-FIRE is proudly displayed at the Palm Springs Air Museum in California. Visitors can view the aircraft in the African-European Theater hangar, where it serves as a tribute to wartime engineering and postwar display excellence. The museum occasionally offers open cockpit experiences, allowing enthusiasts to sit at the controls of this historic fighter.
