This striking image captures Panavia Tornado GR.1 ZA321/B-58 launching into full afterburner during a takeoff sequence. Photographed by Stuart H Bourne, the aircraft displays TTTE unit markings and the distinctive B-58 tail code. The Tornado’s variable-sweep wings and twin RB199 engines are clearly visible, emphasizing its Cold War-era role as a low-level strike platform.

ZA321 was one of the earliest production GR.1s, delivered to the RAF in the early 1980s and assigned to the Tri-national Tornado Training Establishment (TTTE). After retirement in 2002, the airframe was shipped to China Lake Ranges, California, and is believed to have been destroyed in 2003.

Whether you're drawn to the Tornado’s engineering pedigree or its multinational training legacy, this photo offers a visually rich tribute to one of NATO’s most capable tactical jets.
